Welcome to the Triangle Sertoma Club Website. Whether this is your
first visit or a return trip, I hope that you will learn something about our
club that will encourage you to contact a member about visiting us at a meeting
or possibly to inquire about our clubhouse for rental.
The Triangle Sertoma club is a civic service club comprised of members of our
Durham community who volunteer their time and efforts to raise monies for speech and hearing impaired children. Our
members, some retired and some still working, join together to help in these
fund raising projects while enjoying the fellowship and fun. Our SERTOMA name comes from the motto: SERvice TO MAnkind and we belong to an
international group of clubs that started on April 11, 1912.
Our club hosts two golf tournaments and two BBQ dinner sales each year
to support our charities. We also have fun activities for the members such as
social golf outings as well as Christmas parties for members, spouses, and
guests. I like to say our club can be described in two words: Service and
Fellowship. The members take pride in the fact that our club "gives something
back" to the community in which we live.
Triangle Sertoma meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month
at 6:30 PM at our clubhouse located on Guess Rd. in Durham, NC. Our evening
dinner meetings allow us to have more time for a program and short business
session, as well as time to socialize with other members. Our meetings are less
formal and more "laid back" than most noon time civic clubs.
Again, welcome to Triangle Sertoma. Hopefully, you will see something
on our website that will spur you to contact our club to learn more about our
service to the Durham and Triangle area.
